An Andalusian Fairy Tail
Ronda is famous for its impressive bridges and its bullfighting area. But it´s got much more...
Ronda is one of the oldest Spanish settlements, in the surroundings cave drawings of the Neolithic were found. This place forms an unforgettable mixof Roman, Moorish and Spanish architecture.
Many famous artists passed a stay in this romantic city to get new inspiration such as Orson Welles, Ernest Hemingway or Rainer Maria Rilke.
In thisplace are 3 bridges: The Arabian bridge, the Old Bridge and the New Bridge, which all lead over the canyon of El Tajo. The bridge you can see on many fotos and that is the biggest attraction of the city, is the New Bridge. Some people believe that the Old Bridge originates from Roman times and was reconstructed by Arabians.
The bullfighting area is one of the oldest of entire Spain. The today´s rules of the fight were defined even defined in Ronda.
Ronda is located in the west of Málaga, with a distance of around 120 km, in a mountain landscape surrounded by the natural parks Sierra de Grazalema and Sierra de las Nieves.
Here you can do beautiful hiking tours or tours by bike. The town of Grazalema is very rain-laden wherefore its surroundings are quite green and covered by trees- what is non-typical for this part of Andalusia
